Each recital highlights a major piece or theme that is translated into the poster design. The design becomes the master graphic that will be applied to all collaterals (tickets, maps, instagram posts, etc.)
Rite of Spring
Midsummer Madness. The debut recital highlights Igor Stravinsky’s Rite of Sprint. It was written for the 1913 Paris season of Sergei Diaghilev's Ballets Russes company. The work depicts various primitive rituals celebrating the advent of spring, after which a young girl is chosen as a sacrificial victim and dances herself to death.
Echoing the chaotic and bizzarre story, with the piece’s avant-garde approach to tonality and form, the graphics mimic a circular Russian pagan ritual with flowers representing Spring time.
A French Interlude
In this recital, the Escales Francaises or a “French Stopover” presents samples of reknowned French composers. The Theme highlights the experience of sampling the curated music, likened to window shopping or stopping by viewing spots when travelling.
